 “Great lobster...great price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014 NEW
sightseeing in NYC, headed to Chelsea Market... Definitely wanted to have lobster while in NYC, but not sure we wanted to pay NYC prices. So we had lunch at the Lobster Place. First of all, the place is something to see. Sooo much seafood. They have lots of great choices. If we lived nearby, we would definitely shop there! Lunch was terrific! We found a table in the market place and really enjoyed our meal and people watching.

BISTRO 25, 45 Foster Ave., 631-589-7775
The draw at this big, bustling bistro is chef Brian Shuren’s high-caliber cooking at surprisingly moderate prices. Get into the braised pork belly over corn pudding, truffled mac and cheese, short ribs and, for dessert, a blackberry-lemon tart Tatin.

LA TAVOLA, 183 W. Main St., 631-750-6900
This country-style trattoria manages to be both homey and contemporary. On the menu: duck spiedini, crispy long-stemmed artichokes, potato and sheep's milk ricotta gnocchi alla Bolognese and Parmesan encrusted pork loin.

BUTERA’S, 100 S. Main St., 631-563-0805
This South Suffolk branch of a successful Long Island Italian restaurant group specializes in big flavors and big portions. Standouts include warm scallop salad, pan-baked veal sausage lasagna and chicken parm. There’s also a list of lighter options.

DOWNTOWN BURGER AT FIVE POINTS CAFE, 1 Main St., 631-567-5655
Imaginatively topped burgers and fine milkshakes keep this Sayville downtowner hopping. In fine weather, there’s outdoor seating in the courtyard.
